Library Renovates Graduate Study Rooms

Hunter Library has, for many years now, provided graduate students with small, individual study rooms located on the lower mezzanine level. These rooms may be reserved by graduate students for the entire semester on a first-come, first served application basis. Use of the rooms has been declining, in part, because of security issues that made it difficult for students to leave personal items in the spaces. A lack of light also presented issues.

The library, working with WCU Facilities Management, recently completed a project that replaced the doors to the rooms and added large windows and locks. Each room now has its own combination lock, with an individual access code that will be changed each time the room is reassigned. These rooms may be particularly useful to students who travel a distance to the library and need to spend significant time in the building while conducting research.

If you are a graduate student interested in obtaining an individual study room, please contact the Circulation Desk at (828) 227-7485.
