Hunter Library will be joining hundreds of other libraries across the nation in celebrating the 7th annual Money Smart Week. This initiative began as a partnership between the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago to offer “financial literacy programming to help community members better manage their personal finances.”
In April, Hunter Library will host two financial literacy workshop for students. Dr. Patrick Payne, Professor of Finance in WCU’s College of Business, will present “Get Started Investing” on Tuesday, April 17, 3:30-4:00 p.m. This workshop will provide a basic overview of financial markets with practical tips on how to start an investment portfolio. Dr. Grace Allen, Professor of Finance in WCU’s College of Business, will present “Financial Literacy for College Students” on Wednesday, April 18, 4:00-5:00 p.m. This workshop will explore the development of good money habits and how those habits can translate to the workplace.
